STEPHANIE MEYER IS DIRECTING THE NEW JACK'S MANNEQUIN VIDEO?!

What the hell is this?!

All I have to say is that this better be a joke. Not that I don't love to be proved wrong and be pleaseantly surprised (if this is for real then that woman better do so and put out a good music video, so help me) but is anyone else as pissed about this as I am?

Edit: Read the story on MTV.com HERE.

Warped Tour St. Heles '08!

The Vans Warped Tour Hits St. Helens, OR!

Sunday I went to the St. Helens Warped Tour and had a a killer time! I got to meet up with Bree (who is the cutest damn thing in person, and SO nice), touched Matt Good of From First To Last, unknowingly walked with Travie from Gym Class Heroes for a minute, kicked back at the Monster Lounge, and danced my ass off with Cobra Starship!

First off, I hit the Route 66 Main Stage at 1:30 to catch From First To Last, a performance I alwaysalwaysalways have a great time watching. I love seeing them play, so the 30 minutes they had went by much faster than I would have liked. BUT I went to their booth signing and got to hug Matt and talk a little to Travis and had them sign stuff for me!

Then we wandered around the booths for a little while and checked out the end of Family Force 5's set (which was hilarious and at one point joined by the Japanese Ska band ORESKABAND), watched Katy Perry jump around and be downright adorable on stage, caught the Gym Class Heroes' set, saw Jac Vanek every time we turned around, wondered  why on earth Jeffree Star needed multiple signings, finally tracked down Bree (via some heavy stalker action), checked out Motion City Soundtrack's set, and then...

Then we headed to the Main Stage to catch Cobra Starship...
I'd been warned by Brian that the last week he was on the tour, the Cobras hadn't been playing too hot.  The last time they played in Portland, Gabe had been sick and hadn't been as energetic, so I'd  gotten myself ready for another "decent" performance but from the second their intro music came on until the second they left the stage, it was like I had my old Cobras back! Gabe was jumping around, pole dancing, flirting with his band, making fun of Ryland, and dancing, and being cute and DANCING! We had so much fun during the Cobra's set, and we lucked out because Gabe has been having trouble lately with losing his voice and had to cancel their set in Eugene last night.

After leaving the main stage we caught up with Bree again and scored some Buzznet buttons (sweeeeet) and watched the Street Dogs set. The Cobra crowd was wild, but the Street Dogs crowd was NUTS. They had the biggest circle pit I think I've ever seen, and the cloud of dust that resulted was intense. Let me put it this way...there's still dirt in my snot when I blow my nose. Yeah. After that, we headed over to the Hurley Stage to catch the end of the We The Kings set and All Time Low, but much to our surprise...ORESKABAND was playing their own set. Those girls are the cutest little things ever and they were an absolute blast to watch! We wanted to stick around for All Time Low and The Academy Is... but alas, we had to head home.

All in all, I'd say this was a great year for Warped. The crowd as well as the Lineup was highly diverse - there was a little bit of everything everywhere you went. As well as all of the great bands, there were a lot of great merch booths and non-profit booths there this year. Music Saves Lives (who are still technically applying for their non-profit status) were handing out limited VIP access bracelets to people who had donated blood for them as well as getting people signed up to be bone marrow donors, and I'm sure just about everyone got accosted by the Peta2 Pig. I really enjoyed myself this year and can't wait to see what next year has in store for us Warped fans. Hopefully more sunscreen in my case...

DEAR RYAN ROSS,

PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS HAPPENS:

How is so much cute encapsulated in one human being? I have heard so much bad stuff about you, kid, but I could forgive that face a lot of dirty deeds. I know you're probably pretty skeezy, Ryan Ross. Anyone "growing up" in the music industry has a good chance of that, but DAMN, BOY. You're keeping it hot for mama.

John Mayer Gushes Over Pete Wentz in Blog

John Mayer gushes Over Pete Wentz in Blog

John Mayer Pic: PA Photos

John Mayer has written a gushing open letter to Pete Wentz, and published it on his personal blog,

The singer says he could have emailed Wentz his appreciation, but instead decided to publicly show his support for him because Wentz had previously written positively about Mayer on his blog.

“I could have easily written this to you in an email, but you've been so cool to write positive things about me on your blog(s) that I want to respond in kind,” Mayer wrote.

“You're one of the best eggs in the music industry, hands down.” He continued. “With as much talent as you have, I'd expect you'd have some eccentric ego, but from what I can tell you seem to have none. (That actually makes you more talented, by way of some crazy cosmic arithmetic.) Every time we get the chance to hang I'm inspired by your creativity. Your mind is like a stadium with the dome open… you have ZERO judgment when it comes to things that move you. When most people get the feeling they might like an idea, or a shirt, they run it through a series of filters; 'what should I think, given my personal attributes?' 'How does this read?' 'What would Kanye do?' You have what makes talented people successful for years and years - a brave sense of self and a completely authentic relationship with your tastes.”

Mayer also complimented Wentz on his ability to deal with his celebrity, and congratulated the father-to-be on his recent nuptials:

“Point is, I think the world of you. And wish you all the happiness your artsy head will accept. Fame is just one big lesson in being a man, and you're doing a bang up job… Best to you and your lovely wife…”

Wentz yesterday confirmed he and new wife Ashlee Simpson will be parents later this year.

Squirrels Evolving; Now Wearing Camo, Using Tools

MOAR LOLZ, PLZ?

Squirrels Evolving; Now Wearing Camo, Using Tools

snake-camo

Squirrels are the new mountain lions. These beasts are coming out of the trees and attacking humans—and now they’ve developed snake camo. They smear themselves with snakeskin to mask their scent and avoid getting eaten by snakes. If this “snake charming” works then the squirrel population will go unchecked for too long. When the squirrel count swells the animals will begin attacking humans in packs. We’ll all have to start carrying bb gun sidearms and wearing protective fencing masks when we walk outside.

Passenger 'moons' at speed camera

Passenger mooning
Safety campaigners have labelled the man as a "fool"

A front seat car passenger was photographed baring his backside at a speed camera in Northumberland.

The "mooning" man was snapped by the mobile camera as the black BMW X5 drove past on the A1171 Dudley Lane in Cramlington last month.

His behaviour has been labelled as "dangerous and offensive" by road safety campaigners.

Police may take action against the man for public order offences and not wearing a seat belt.

NZ Man Used Hedgehog As Weapon

You read that right. I know I've seen and posted a lot of crazy stuff from the BBCNEWS website...but I'm not even entirely sure what to say or do here. Not cool at all that a guy used a hedgehog as a weapon and it may have died in...combat(?)...BUT A DUDE THREW A HEDGEHOG AT A KID. COME ON. admit it, if it was a cartoon or an SNL skit you'd laugh. Especially if Christopher Walken did the throwing.

Article Found Here

NZ man 'used hedgehog as weapon'

A man in New Zealand has been charged with using a hedgehog as a weapon, the New Zealand Herald has reported.

Police said William Singalargh, 27, had hurled the hedgehog about 5m (16ft) at a 15-year-old boy.

"It hit the victim in the leg, causing a large, red welt and several puncture marks," said Senior Sgt Bruce Jenkins, in the North Island town of Whakatane.

It was unclear whether the hedgehog was still alive when it was thrown, though it was dead when collected as evidence.

The police spokesman said the suspect was arrested "for assault with a weapon, namely the hedgehog."

Mr Singalargh is due to appear in court on 17 April. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

Semi-Naked, Mouse-Phobic Braves Snow to Flee Brazen Rodent

it's me again, looking out for your lolz. ;)

Original article found here.

When faced with the subject of their own phobias, people tend to exhibit a number of erratic responses...

For example, acrophobics -- those who are afraid of heights -- may drop to the floor of a tall structure or hug a part of the building which they are convinced is immovable.

The stereotypical response for muriphobics -- people who are scared of mice -- is to stand on a chair, pull their skirt tight around their knees and scream like a banshee; that is if the muriphobic is a woman or a character from a Tom & Jerry cartoon.

But even those who study phobias cannot say for sure how a person will react to being faced with their nemesis. There is no standard response apart from total and irrational fear.

So who to say that the German muriphobic who ran out into the street in sub-zero temperatures wearing just his boxer shorts and a pair of fluffy slippers is any crazier than the next person battling a fear of mice?

The local police who then led a search of the petrified man's house, that's who.

After being seen cowering semi-naked in a phone booth in the town of Goettingen, the man was approached by the officers hoping for something a little racier than just some sleepwalker or an extreme jogger who had forgotten his keys.

But instead of accosting a pervert lurking for prey, the local cops found the quivering 23-year-old to be the victim -- of mouse-stalking.

The man told police he had seen the mouse scurry across the floor while he was watching a film, and had immediately fled his home. He did not elaborate on what kind of film he was watching, sat at home alone in just his underwear, and the police chose not to pursue this line of enquiry.

After the intrepid cops tried and failed to track down the offending rodent, the man ignored their assurances that it was safe to return and instead trudged off through the snow to stay with nearby relatives.

"He said there was nothing he was more afraid of," the Goettingen police said in a statement.

I'm in love with From First To Last's new video for "Worlds Away"

I have a huge soft spot for those boys and I love their music more and more with every album they put out. I've seen them play a few times and it's always been well worth the money. They always make sure to put on a hell of a show. Needless to say, I saw the new video for "Worlds Away" yesterday and fell in love with them all over again.

The general consensus?

Thumbs up, boys.

easiest way to blow a guy's mind: stop being so damn neurotic!

okay, so my boyfriend seems completely baffled that i'm so laid back and that i don't jump all over him about things, that i let him play video games and that i go out of my way to do little things for him that i know he likes. this troubles me a lot. of COURSE i want to do things for him and make him feel appreciated. i don't want him to ever feel like he has to walk on eggshells around me or like all women are crazy and need constant drama. i hate drama.so i asked a couple of my guy friends and it seems like us girls are going wrong somewhere. it's heartbreakingly easy to make a guy happy just with little things, and most of it involves just breaking double-standards.

  - don't be one of those girls that starts fights and random drama over the dumb little things. i know you have estrogen, but not EVERYTHING has to be a big deal. let things slide sometimes. it's really not the end of the world, i promise. you make mistakes too, no one is perfect.
  - he knows his character flaws, you don't have to point them out to him all the time. seriously? how would you feel if your boyfriend told you to get off your lazy ass and do something? you'd probably smack him.
  - make sure he knows that you like him the way he is and that you have no intentions of "training" him or "fixing things" about him. i hear this often and i think it's the dumbest thing ever. there's a reason you fell for him in the first place, remind him of how much you like those things.
  - let him watch cartoons/anime/sports or play video games if he wants. seriously, sometimes it's that easy. so is this neat little thing called "compromise." it's totally okay to say "hey babe, if you want to play grand theft auto/watch samurai champloo for another hour, can we pleeeeeeeeeease go see a that movie i've been wanting to check out afterwards?" he knows that you hate it when he watches sports. and you know what? he hates that you watch total vagina movies*. get over it.
  - do dumb little things for him like buying him a box of mike & ikes because they're his favorite. why should guys be expected to do cute things like that if you never do? totally unfair and hypocritical. and when you think he doesn't do anything for you? remember that you'll always feel like you're giving 80% and the other person is giving 20%, but that they feel the same way.
  - encourage him to go out with his boys. let him be independent. let him make his own choices, he's an adult and he doesn't need another mom or a babysitter or someone to dictate his life.
  - set your crazy aside sometimes and just try to give him the benefit of the doubt. and hey, apologies go both ways.
  - don't assume that just because he has testosterone, he's stupid. he's probably got you a lot more figured out then he lets on.

*Vagina Movies: Pride and Prejudice, The Notebook, The English Patient, Pretty Woman, anything Kate Hudson or Meg Ryan have been in. See also: chick flicks, tear jerkers, romantic "comedies."

Also, this is not to say i'm an expert or anything of the sort (far from it), i've just found that these little things seem to work and when we girls put our crazy away for a little while and let ourselves be laid back and chill, things seem to go better. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, it was not my intention.
